SUMMARY
Objectives: To determine the laboral climate (LC) and professional quality of life (PQL) perceived by Hospital Pharmacy Service (HPS) professionals.
Methods: Cross-sectional study. Voluntary, confidential and anonymous questionnaire adapted: 16 questions likert 1-5, one dichotomous on possibility of transfer to another unit and 3 open to suggestions; variable: professional category. It included the HPS staff (2007 and 2010) and all professionals (2014) working in the HPS at the time of the survey. Statistical analysis: qualitative variables: proportions and percentages; quantitative variables: means and standard deviations; Contrast qualitative variables: Chi-square test; comparison of means: Mann Whitney test and Kruskal-Wallis. Professional categories C, D and E were grouped into a group (group C).
Results: The participation rate was 74%, 67% and 75% in 2007, 2010 and 2014, respectively. Perceived job satisfaction: 3.63±0.94, better between pharmacist (group A) (3.89±0.68, p=0.026). Nurses (group B) greater perceived stress (4.60±0.55, p=0.05) and 80% would request a transfer to another clinical unit (p=0.006). Group C sees better “to be proud to belong to Salud” (4.03±0.94, p=0.041) and “personal realtionships between partners are good” (3.96±0.69; p=0.001). Over seven years, the satisfaction of the pharmacist have significantly increased with the training for their position (p=0.028) and overall satisfaction (p=0.049).
Conclusions: The determination of the CL and PQL of HPS professionals has allowed planning strategies to improve quality of care.
