SUMMARY
Occupational exposure to hazardous drusgs in health centers is a reality found in numerous studies.
Knowledge about the best practices of handling them in order to reduce the exposure of health professionals has been increasing over time.
However, there are numerous challenges to be addressed to ensure the maximum protection of health personnel and the correct handling of this type of substances: the standardization of handling practices, the establishment of adequate exposure limits, the universality of training and the unification of the dangerousness criteria are some of them.
The work to be developed must be multidisciplinary and coordinated to increase the robustness of the results obtained and the reliability of them.
